- How do you assemble the electronic cigarette?
The e-cig assembles and disassembles very easily. To attach the battery to the atomizer simply match the male threading on the atomizer to the female threading on the battery and screw it in. Unscrew in the opposite direction to detach. To attach a cartridge to the atomizer simply slide the other end of the atomizer into the opening of the cartridge. Once together rotate the cart slightly to make sure it is securely attached. It is recommended that you hold the assembled e-cig upright, with the cartridge end facing upward and the battery end facing downward, for about a minute or two before you use it for the first time to allow the liquid in the cart to moisten the atomizer.
- How does it work?
When a user inhales through the device, air flow is detected by a sensor, which activates a heating element called an "atomizer" that vaporizes a nicotine solution stored in the mouthpiece called the "cartridge". It is this vapor that is inhaled by the user. An LED on the opposite end of the device is also activated during inhalation, which serves as an indicator of use, and also to simulate the glow of actual burning tobacco.
- What are the parts of the electronic cigarette?
There are three parts: the cartridge, the atomizer, and the battery.
The cartridge is a small disposable plastic cup affixed to the end of the "e-cig". Inside, the "cart" contains an absorbent material that is moistened with a flavored propylene glycol/nicotine liquid solution. When the liquid in the cartridge has been depleted, it can either be refilled by the user, or replaced with another pre-filled cartridge.
The atomizer is the heating element that serves to vaporize the liquid in the cartridge so that it can be inhaled.
The battery is a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that powers the atomizer. Battery life varies depending on the battery type and size, frequency of use, and operating environment.
- What are the strengths of nicotine?
We currently offer 4 levels of nicotine: 24mg, 16mg, 8mg, and 0mg or "nicotine free". 24mg is similar to a regular full flavored cigarette. 16mg is similar to a light cigarette. 8mg is similar to an ultra light cigarette. Nicotine free is a way for somebody to enjoy the many flavors of an e-cig without having to consider the risks and addictive effects of nicotine.
Over a period of time we will add more answers to your questions in this "How It works" section so be sure to stop back often. Or if you do not see your question here, feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to find the answers for you.
- What is a PCC?
A PCC is a portable charging case. It provides the convenience of charging your e-cig battery on the go. The PCC case, which is similar to a regular cigarette pack in looks and size, also functions as a carrying case that will hold a fully assembled e-cig, several cartridges, and a second battery that recharges while it is connected to the charge port, also called "receptor", inside of the PCC. The PCC itself can be recharged with the provided wall plug adapter or USB cable. The Elite has an LCD display on the front of the PCC that lets you know when to recharge it.
- What is an electronic cigarette?
An electronic cigarette (or "e-cigarette") is an alternative to regular tobacco cigarettes. It is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine by delivering a vaporized propylene glycol/nicotine solution. In addition to nicotine delivery, this vapor also provides a flavor and physical sensation similar to that of inhaled tobacco smoke, while no tobacco, smoke, or combustion is actually involved in its operation.
- What is e-liquid?
E-liquid is the flavored propylene glycol/nicotine liquid solution that is inside of the cartridges. You can buy e-liquid in bottles and refill the carts yourself, which is especially useful if you would like to use a flavor not offered in the cartridges made specifically for your e-cig. E-liquid may come in different concentrations (strengths) of nicotine measured in milligrams(mg).
- What is propylene glycol?
Propylene glycol is one of the main ingredients in the nicotine solution. There have been some misconceptions about what it is and whether it is harmful or not. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified propylene glycol as an additive that is “generally recognized as safe” for use in food. It is used to absorb extra water and maintain moisture in certain medicines, and in our electrolyte formulas. It is a simple sugar compound, which readily breaks down to form a lactic acid.
- When do you need to change your cartridge?
When your cartridge is no longer producing vapor or flavor, then you will need to replace it. You can either replace the empty cartridge with a brand new full one, or refill the cart with e-liquid. On average a cartridge lasts approximately 7 - 10 cigarettes worth.
