  • Five huge changes to make in your lifestyle, like switching to electric cigarettes

Posted on December 6, 2012 by Revolver

There's only one constant in life - change. For better or worse, most of the time we don't have any kind of control over it. People get laid off, relationships end, the world shifts, time marches on. Frankly, David Bowie was right - when up against changes, you've got to "turn and face the strange."

And sometimes, you've got to be the one to initiate the change. Count the number of things in your life you'd like to alter. One of the big ones is probably giving up smoking cigarettes. Not only are these a drain on your finances and health, but they're a major social stigma, and one that your friends and family aren't too happy about. Sometimes trying to attack a major change like that can seem impossible on its own, but accompanied by an overall larger shift in your day-to-day life - switching to an entirely NEW track - it can become easier. Definitely not easy, but easier. Consider some of these options and how, as part of a lifestyle overhaul, they can help you change for the better!

    1. Quit smoking
First thing's first - the cigarettes have got to go. Not only are tobacco products a danger to your health (no news there, right?), but cigarettes, from the smell of your clothes to the stained teeth or fingers, plant a big sign on your back that reads SMOKER. Giving up this habit is a must, and one way to make it a lot easier on yourself is to invest in some help, like electronic cigarettes. Not only do smoke free electronic cigarettes completely do away with dangers like secondhand smoke, but they can still provide you with the nicotine you need to get by while helping you avoid the health risks of tar and tobacco. Consider making the switch to vapor cigarette brands and improving your lifestyle.

    2. Start exercising
One major change to your lifestyle that you should really consider is exercise. Whether you're getting some mild exercise now, like walking, or none at all, you'll find that everything becomes easier when you quit smoking tobacco products. Hit the gym for some time on the treadmill or take up swimming - there are a variety of great ways to get your heart going and your waistline slimming down.

    3. Eat healthier foods
Some people use cigarettes as an appetite suppressant, but if you really want to lose weight, you need to be eating right. Prepared the right way, even the blandest of vegetables can be delicious and nutritious! Check out a cookbook or some recipes online and begin limiting your sugar and fat intake.

    4. Commune with nature
Have you found yourself missing those carefree days from childhood when the world seemed big and a summer lasted forever? Sometimes getting out of the house and heading into nature can bring back that feeling. Why not go for a hike through a local nature preserve or hit a few walking trails? Sunshine, fresh air and a sense of wonder are all great for mood and health.

    5. Travel
Stop smoking cigarettes and make the switch to a less costly option like a cheap e-cigarette brand and you'll suddenly find yourself with a lot more spending money. You don't need to hop a plane to Europe by any means, but getting out and seeing the world - perhaps on a weekend trip - is one of the best lifestyle changes you can make! Consider how Revolver's G2 electronic cigarette might help you start to save money for travel!

  • Six non-health related reasons to quit cigarettes and switch to the best e-cig

Posted on December 5, 2012 by Revolver

Almost any website - or elementary school kid, for that matter - can give you 101 reasons to quit smoking cigarettes and using tobacco products for your health and the health of others. And there are plenty of ways in which products like electronic cigarettes can help do away with risks like secondhand smoke. But why not think outside the box for a moment and consider these six non-health-related reasons why you should give up smoking tobacco cigarettes and consider taking up vaping instead.

    1. Stale tobacco scent
You know that smell, the one that you still haven't gotten used to after all these years - as though a room has been boarded up and sealed off from a fresh breeze for ages. The scent of stale tobacco can seep into everything, from clothing to upholstery to the very hardwood beneath your feet, and the first step toward getting rid of it isn't just to open a window - it's to quit cigarettes. However much you may love that scent of tobacco when you first light up, it fades pretty quickly, and the smell it leaves behind isn't exactly tantalizing. Switching to vapor electronic cigarettes means that you don't need to deal with tobacco or that stale stench any longer.

    2. Gross, unsightly clutter
One of the other major downsides to smoking in the home (and there are several yet to come) is that it creates gross and unsightly clutter. While you probably empty your ashtrays often enough to keep them clean, not every bit of cigarette ash makes it in and those little piles and messes add up. Plus, even just a few spent butts sitting in an ashtray at the end of the day can look pretty gross sitting on a side table or in the kitchen. Kick this clutter into the garbage permanently by getting your nicotine fix from a product that doesn't leave ashes, like those from electronic cigarette brands.

    3. Furniture burns
Another casualty of smoking in the home is furniture burns. These are pretty rare for the diligent and wary smoker, but even the most attentive of individuals risk burning some part of their upholstery when they're holding a glowing ember in their fingers. Save your favorite couch or armchair from getting burnt by leaving cigarettes behind and picking up a non-burning and smoke-free option. And, there's always the huge bonus of eliminating fire hazards!

    4. Ceiling discoloration
While the yellowed ceilings of an old bar might add character to the place, you can't say the same thing about your home. Tobacco smoke slowly yellows plaster ceilings the same way it does teeth over time, so kick the habit and save this highly visible part of your home from discoloration.

    5. Enjoy electronic cigarettes in more places
One of the major benefits of electronic cigarettes is how they get rid of secondhand smoke. This means you can take your favorite e-cigarette brands to a wider variety of locales and enjoy a relaxing vape there. Not smoking a tobacco cigarette also means you're helping do away with the social stigma you may feel you've been carrying around - so you won't be embarrassed to step out with an e-cig.

    6. Save money
You'll quickly find that one of the biggest non-health-related advantages of giving up tobacco in favor of electronic cigarettes is the huge monetary savings. Rather than endless spending on endless packs of cigarettes, you can invest in Revolver's Magnum Volt Compact Starter Kit, which outfits you with everything you'll need to move past tobacco cigarettes and into a better future.

  • More people opting for electronic cigarettes in light of tax hikes and bans

Posted on November 13, 2012 by Revolver

For years, people have been asking the same question - are electronic cigarettes safe? While there's still much research to be conducted on the matter, one thing is for sure - electronic cigarettes are a viable alternative to smoking that can give individuals the nicotine they want without exposing them to tar and tobacco. It's this fact alone that's encouraging more people to opt for vaping and say no to traditional cigarettes.

A study conducted by the University of London recently determined that electronic cigarettes can potentially improve users' memories. A survey conducted by Wells Fargo Securities also found that vaping is expected to grow by 40 percent each year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

What does this mean for smokers? In simple terms, it translates into a more economically efficient way to get a nicotine fix without the harmful side effects of using traditional cigarettes. Because an electronic cigarette can be reused, it's less of a financial burden on those who want to continue to quell their cravings.

More people are also turning to vaping because legislators are creating smoking bans and taxes in certain parts of the country.

Bans continue to rise in the U.S.
In Maryland, Montgomery County officials are the latest to bring the concept of a public smoking ban to the forefront of the discussion, according to the Washington Post. Recently, a proposal was brought to the table that would prevent smokers from lighting up in county buildings. The ban will be voted on in mid-November by county officials.

"I have unfortunately spent a lot of time over the past year with people who have cancer," Council Member Nancy Floreen told the news source. "I want to do everything I can to help prevent this awful disease in all of its forms, and this is a good place to start."
Currently, smoking is banned in playgrounds, restaurants and certain areas of multifamily apartment buildings. It's no secret that secondhand smoke continues to play a role in the laws that are turning up in many regions of the country. ,

As the American Cancer Society reports, approximately 46,000 people die from heart disease each year as a result of inhaling secondhand smoke, although they have never used cigarettes themselves. There are more than 7,000 chemicals in each traditional cigarette and 250 of them are known to be harmful. It's these facts that continue to encourage public officials to create bans.

    More counties raising cigarette taxes
The cost of traditional cigarettes is also a prime concern for smokers who have never had to contend with such high taxes in the past. Cook County, Illinois, is one of the latest to consider raising the tax on a pack of cigarettes in order to discourage more people from lighting up, according to the Chicago Tribune. The tax would go up by full dollar and go into effect in March 2013. In conjunction with taxes on firearms and other expenses, officials expect it to help raise approximately $41 million.

"I think the revenue increases are small, they're targeted and largely they’re avoidable, if you so choose, to residents of the county," Commissioner Bridget Gaine told the Tribune.

It's these type of motions that may soon encourage more people to explore the benefits of electronic cigarettes and keep more money in their wallets. In the end, it's also curbing healthcare costs for communities as a whole.

Revolver Electronic Cigarettes offers products such as the Magnum Volt 2 Starter Kit for individuals who want to try vaping and eliminate tobacco from their lives.

  • More states across the country instituting high cigarette taxes

Posted on October 24, 2012 by Revolver

There's nothing worse than seeing your bank account dwindle as a result of your nicotine habit, but if you're a smoker, this is likely just a part of your everyday life. As the price of cigarettes continues to rise, more people are turning to vaping to get their nicotine fix, and for good reason.

An electronic cigarette can be reused, which makes it a more financially efficient option for those who enjoy nicotine. Furthermore, this relieves smokers of the stress that comes with having to continuously buy traditional cigarettes, which are now becoming subject to heavy taxes.

If you're a smoker who's been procrastinating on trying vaping instead of sticking to cigarettes, you might want to consider the taxes being tacked onto packs before heading to the convenience store. Not only are you likely seeing its effects on your bank account, but among the smoking community as well, as more people are turning down cigarettes to seek viable, financially efficient alternatives.

As the Clarion Ledger reports, some people are quitting altogether as prices continue to rise. In 2009, a 50 percent tax increase was placed on cigarettes in Mississippi at the same time that federal guidelines instituted that rose costs by approximately 62 cents. Now, experts have discovered that between 2008 and 2011, cigarette usage throughout the state decreased by more than 26 percent.

Could it be the prices that are convincing people to quit? Regardless of the cause, overall health across the state has likely improved.

When people examine rising healthcare costs, many blame smokers for the money they have to pay. As a result, more public officials are supporting the idea of instituting taxes to reduce expenses and improve the overall well-being of citizens.

In Missouri, residents will be voting on Proposition B, which will raise the cigarette tax from 17 cents to 90 cents per pack, according to the Joplin Independent. Currently, Missouri has the lowest cigarette tax in the country. Advocates for Proposition B believe that if the legislation passes, the state can reduce how much money it pays for healthcare.

Currently, Missouri taxpayers spend approximately $532 million for healthcare. If Proposition B passes, much of the tax revenue generated from smokers would go toward schools. At the end of the day, the tax might also encourage more people to turn to vaping rather than continue to use cigarettes to get their nicotine fix.

One state that has already seen the benefits of instituting a tax on cigarettes is Oklahoma, according to OKNews.com. The news source reports that since a high tax was placed on cigarettes, smoking rates fell from 28.7 percent in 2001 to 23.7 percent in 2010. By the end of 2012, experts speculate that tax money from cigarettes will generate more than $293 million, which will benefit the local economy.

As more people begin to note the financial advantages of instituting high taxes on cigarettes, individuals are starting to turn away from the idea of using them to get their nicotine fix on a regular basis. With alternatives such as vaping available these days, smokers are having fewer excuses to use when it comes to quitting.

Electronic cigarettes are not only more financially efficient, but they can potentially improve an individual's well-being by subtracting tar and tobacco from the equation. Various types of cancer are known to stem from tobacco. but by quitting, individuals can give themselves a new lease on life and have peace of mind, knowing their nicotine habit isn't causing them to go broke.

  • Electronic cigarette sales continue to increase as more people vape

Posted on September 18, 2012 by Revolver

As the price of cigarettes continues to increase, more people are turning to vaping to get their nicotine fixes. An e-cig can be reused, making it a more cost-efficient option for individuals on a budget. If you've always been interested in the concept of using an electronic cigarette but you think it might be just a fad, consider the facts.

Recently, a study conducted by the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens, Greece, found that heart function was more affected by using traditional cigarettes than electronic cigarettes. While further research still needs to be done on the effects of using e-cigs, it's known that they have less of an impact on blood pressure and heart activity.

A study conducted by Utah Vapers gives vapers even more reason to use electronic cigarettes over traditional cigarettes - these products don't create secondhand smoke. While they may create a vapor while in use, the researchers determined that the by-product doesn't contain nicotine, tar or tobacco that can be inhaled by others.

In general, electronic cigarettes don't contain the toxins that traditional cigarettes include. Furthermore, many of the ingredients in traditional cigarettes can be linked to cancer development and other health complications.

The American Cancer Society has determined that approximately 46,000 people die from heart disease each year as the result of regularly inhaling secondhand smoke. Approximately 3,400 people each year die of lung cancer stemming from secondhand smoke, even though they have never used cigarettes in their lives. By vaping, more people are able to avoid contributing to the problem.

Tobacco users are also facing another issue that some electronic cigarette users are able to avoid - bans. More restaurants and stores are banning tobacco products to keep patrons away from harmful secondhand smoke. However, individuals who use electronic cigarettes are still able to use their products in these areas because they don't contain tobacco or create secondhand smoke.

As the benefits of using electronic cigarettes continue to become more evident, sales are increasing. Recent research has determined that the e-cig industry is valued at approximately $300 million, and it's on the rise. Approximately 2.5 million people are now vapers, according to a survey conducted by Wells Fargo Securities. While convenience stores sell knock-off electronic cigarettes, experts say that they expect to see a boom in online sales in the near future as more people look for the real deal. Individuals may also be able to get higher quality products online.

If you're considering ditching cigarettes for the electronic variety, you might already know how e-cigs can benefit your bank account - but did you know that quitting can have an immediate positive influence on your health as well?

The National Cancer Institute states that immediately upon quitting, your heart rate and blood pressure will stabilize - as a smoker, they're abnormally high. You'll also have an improved sense of smell and the carbon monoxide levels in your blood will decrease.

If you quit cigarettes by age 50, you can reduce your chances of dying prematurely from a smoking-related illness by approximately 50 percent. Those who quit by age 30 can reduce their odds by approximately 90 percent. In the end, you'll be giving yourself a new chance at life while ensuring you'll be there for your family in the future.

Once you begin using electronic cigarettes, you'll immediately see the benefits in every area of your life. This change for the better may also inspire you to encourage your loved ones who are smokers to ditch the habit as well.

  • Avoiding convenience store trips by opting for vaping

Posted on August 3, 2012 by Revolver

When you wake up in the morning, you likely have a grinding schedule in between getting the kids ready for school, making breakfast and getting to work on time. If you think that you could be better at managing your time, you might want to think of tasks that are slowing you down.

Smokers have to make extra time in their days to step outside, take a puff and run to the store to pick up a new pack if they run out. Cigarettes are not only costly, but they can eat up valuable time if you constantly need to buy them to get your nicotine fix.

To save money and time, you might want to consider vaping. An electronic cigarette can be reused, meaning you don't have to worry about stopping to pick up a new pack during the day. Because the device can be used more than once, it's also a more economically friendly option.

Instead of trying to fit a convenience store run into your busy schedule each day, think about vaping and how quitting can benefit your overall well-being. The National Cancer Institute reports that smoking can cause various types of cancers, including throat, kidney and lung cancer. Quitting can reduce your risk of suffering from these conditions.

  • Getting your nicotine fix while you're traveling a long distance

Posted on August 1, 2012 by Revolver

Whether you're traveling by train to meet a friend across the country or driving hundreds of miles to visit a family member, you're going to want to make sure you're prepared for the long trip. Some items you'll need to pack include food, water and spare clothing. However, cigarettes will have to be on your list as well if you're a smoker.

If you're hooked on cigarettes, you'll need to make sure you have cartons with you on your trip to get your nicotine fix. Even then, you may need to stop along the way for more cigarettes, which can put you behind schedule.

To avoid having to make frequent stops while traveling in order to get your fill of nicotine, you might want to consider vaping instead. An e-cig does not contain tar and tobacco, and the device itself is reusable. This means that you won't have to keep stopping en route to your destination for cigarettes.

By avoiding cigarettes, you can also avoid creating secondhand smoke, which may be hazardous to other people who are traveling with you. The American Cancer Society reports that approximately 46,000 non-smoking Americans die of heart disease each year as a result of inhaling secondhand smoke.

  • Choosing vaping over smoking while in college

Posted on July 24, 2012 by Revolver

Once you start living on a college campus and get your first taste of freedom, you may start to make different lifestyle choices. One habit you may take up as a result of hanging out with a new crowd of people is smoking.

While cigarettes can be perceived as trendy and the perfect excuse to socialize, smoking can quickly become a costly habit. Tobacco products continue to increase in price, which can have a negative impact on the wallets of college students who are already struggling.

If you still want to enjoy nicotine without spending a large amount of cash on cigarettes, think about opting for vaping. An e-cig can be reused, meaning you don't have to regularly head to the convenience store to buy cartons of cigarettes. Instead, you can save your money for textbooks and tuition - in the end, this choice is sure to make Mom and Dad proud.

The National Cancer Institute reports that if you quit smoking by age 30, you can reduce your chances of dying from a smoking-related illness by approximately 90 percent. Choosing vaping over smoking sooner rather than later can improve your quality of life.

  • Quitting cigarettes before you move into a condo

Posted on July 24, 2012 by Revolver

If you're looking forward to moving out of a tiny apartment and enjoying the luxury of a condominium, you might want to get to know the ground rules before you settle in. Many closed communities have certain limitations that renters must abide by in order to live in the complex.

For smokers, this can pose a big problem. Many condo complexes do not allow renters to smoke in the units. If you already know this is going to be an issue for you before you move in, you might want to consider switching to vaping sooner rather than later.

An electronic cigarette can give you the nicotine you're looking for without tar and tobacco. It also doesn't create secondhand smoke, which can stain surfaces and odors on furnishings and upholstery.

There are economic benefits associated with vaping as well. Because electronic cigarettes can be reused, you don't have to worry about spending your paychecks repeatedly on traditional cigarettes.

The National Cancer Institute reports that if you quit smoking by age 50, you can reduce your risk of dying prematurely from smoking-related diseases by approximately 50 percent.
