Maryland governor proposes increased cigarette tax

If you're a smoker living in Maryland, you might want to consider making the switch to electronic cigarettes, as Governor Martin O'Malley is rallying to increase the state's tax on traditional cigarettes.
According to Americans for Tax Reform's website, the governor is planning a new budget that would increase taxes on a variety of items, including tobacco products. "The proposed budget would increase taxes on cigars and other tobacco products by 70 percent at the wholesale level," reports the news source.
If you're tired of having your nicotine fix threatened by rising taxes, e-cigs can be a viable alternative that costs less. Instead of buying a pack a day or however many you need to satisfy your cravings, you'll only need to purchase a starter kit, then refills for your cartridges or eLiquids. These items will put less of a dent in your wallet and you won't have to worry about any increases in price.
Additionally, smokeless cigarettes aren't under the jurisdiction of many smoking bans, which means you can vape in many places that you couldn't smoke cigarettes. With no smoke, you won't be offending your neighbors.
